Hitachi Develops High-Performance Smart Tag-Reading Chip

According to a report in the Nihon Keizai Shimbun, Hitachi has developed a chip which is able to read data stored in 100 smart tags in one second. Existing chips can only read data from one smart tag at a time. Hitachi's new chip, called the mu-chip, has the same size and price as its existing models, and sample shipments have already started.
